CPC Integrated Degassing Units

CPC (Counter Pressure Casting) integrated degassing units are advanced systems designed to remove dissolved gases – such as hydrogen – from molten aluminum alloys before casting. In the CPC process, once a holding furnace is filled with alloy, it is shuttled directly to a dedicated degassing station. Here, the degassing operation is fully integrated into the workflow, ensuring the alloy is treated immediately before being transferred to the casting machine.

The degassing unit operates in tandem with the CPC shuttle system, so freshly degassed alloy is delivered directly to the machine and the crucible-type furnace. This minimizes the risk of recontamination or oxidation. As a result, the CPC process consistently delivers the highest possible metal quality, supporting the production of superior castings.

Advantages

Advantage
Description
Superior Metal Quality Integrated degassing removes dissolved gases, reducing porosity and ensuring cleaner casting
Process Efficiency The degassing step is seamlessly incorporated into the shuttle system, eliminating extra handling
Consistency and Reliability Degassed alloy is delivered directly to the casting machine, ensuring uniform quality every cycle
Reduced Defects By minimizing gas content, the risk of casting defects such as shrinkage and inclusions is greatly reduced
Enhanced Productivity Automated, in-line degassing reduces manual intervention and speeds up the production process
